For sure. So I would find a non herp keeping friend willing to let you just keep her in their house. Wait a week and look at youtube videos showing boas with ibd. If the behavior changes back to normal or if is not like a snake with ibd then have a sigh of relief and bring her home. If it does look like ibd you should really end her suffering. I am so sorry this is happening to you.i hope its from something she was exposed to and not ibd. Remember to avoid all herps for a bit. Read up as much as possible on ibd and how it is transmitted from snake to snake . You don't want to accidently spread it. Also if it is ibd the pet store she is at is at risk for all snakes in the store. What a horrible ordeal. Again I am sorry

There's another thread about someone who had bloodwork tested from the heart that gave a positive test for IBD. Apprently, they can also show negative results while being positive too.

There's a new paper out of California I believe about testing IBD and such. I haven't seen it just heard of it so I'd go looking for it.

Honestly, the only way that we've been able to determine IBD is post mortem. If the shop you have her at thought it was IBD they would get rid of her AS SOON as they could because it would essentially shut down any boa/python keeping or selling in the store for an ENTIRE year. Not good for business.

This is an older paper of 2 years but there's not really much research being done on it.

This thread here is another forum and it's about a possible case of IBD in a python but still it should give you some insight as there's some top notch doctors discussing the disease in the thread. It's worth a read.

She has been moved to my friends house, she only has fish and is out of town for the week. I have the key to get in and check on her and its just down the road from mine so I can check on her multiple times a day. I separated her and my male into two 20 gallon set ups for now as a precaution of infecting or spreading whatever it is into their other set ups.

Hopefully it is/enough if is IBD.

Also, I would talk to the store about what they use to clean up the enclosure. It could be chemical like Korbin said.

Hers isnt like that. She doesnt roll or anything its just its like she cant see where shes going and is often surprised by objects. Its almost like shes just weak. She can slither and such she just wont grip, just slip right off whatever.

I am not having a go at you but a twenty gallon is way too small for a breeder female. Even just for a week.

Do you have other boids? Do you have friends with boids? If the answer is no and they aren't suffering there is no need to euthanize right away.

i dont have any friends with snakes of any sort, and the only other boid i have is jerry rice and my ultimate fear is that i will have to euthanize them both. Would a rubbermaid under the bed storage container work for her?

Ok so i found something weird with her. Where her neck is I can feel like the spine is up, kinda like bowed up. My male does not have this in fact i cannot feel his vertebrae. I can count hers down to the 9 or 10th one. The rest of her is fine, fat and rolly poley. What does that mean?

Stargazing is also caused by many other things, usually when a snake is stargazing from IBD they can't eat either.
