Not a clue. I'm not sure how far the issue has spread, but I've heard of it in the news the past few years that they've been dying off in huge numbers. When I saw a kid, I used to see the caterpillars everywhere, and now they're virtually impossible to find. Obviously nothing's eating them, as they're toxic, so it's something environmental. Possibly climate change.
