Catching BRB iridescence?
Someone please teach me how to get good pics of my BRB with an iPhone camera! I'm sure it's just a matter of light and angles, but I'm no photographer

Flash always works for that but short of flash, outside pics on a sunny day works as well

I went outside just now but the pics just don't show it like it is... I'm sure I just suck at catching the right angles :/

If youre outside and you have a place to pose him, walk around him until you see that irridescence relecting from the sun, then take the pic from that angle that you see that irridescence.
Ill give you an example. This was taken of Rita last summer on a bright sunny day, I set her down on that driftwood and walked around her until I found the reflection I was looking for.

Yes, but wait until he's settled in and eating for you well before you start taking him outdoors for photo shoots though  It helps if you have a friend with you so that there can be one person watching while you take the photos.

Thank you! Those were taken without the flash on. I'd rather not use the flash when i have them outside, if possible

I agree, flash is ineffective in the sunshine. Flash works best when theres not enough light otherwise.

its more luck I've found than anything else. The flash helps, natural lights helps, but your best bet is to just start shooting when you can see it with your own eyes and go from there.
