*tempted to show his chemistry exam study guide for friday*
No?
Vapor equations anyone?
Advanced stoichiometry?
Heh? Heh?!

So I take it you're beyond PV = nRT now

Uhh yeah.. more like..
(LOL! The forum wont accept some of the formatting like the sum symbol lol)
we're also doing lattice energies, from the born-lande equations
which look like this:
which comes from electrostatic potential:

repulsive term:
then we have to find total energy:

from unknown B:
so you find it by substitution B in terms of Ro, which gives:
And i need this for being a personal trainer... why?
(images from wikipedia, couldnt find it layed out anywhere that would format, luckily it was in images!)

Essentially you're just plugging numbers into the last equation though, yes? Nothing too crazy. And yes, you will use that every day as a personal trainer. These exact equations. That's why you have to learn them, right? Haha. It's all part of the process. They just want to make sure you are dedicated enough to put up with the BS before they turn you loose. I spent 4 years in college and now starting another 5+ in grad school. All this emphasis on training your brain when in reality, 99% of what I actually do involves my hands.

Sounds like a better system. I made more money with a bachelors than I do as a graduate student. Then, once I get a PhD, I'll start making the same amount as I made in my first job after I got my bachelors degree. Maybe I should've been a PT instead of a scientist

Hah! yeah..
I made $35/hr working at a gym (granted, ~20 hours a week) but going in w/ accredidations (ACSM, NASM, etc etc all of which ive taken and just need to renew) and a bachelors in ex phys, I'm "all set"
I called for a required (for graduation) internship this summer, i'll be done w/ classes but need to do my 2nd internship to get my degree, explained the situation, etc. I'm getting $12/hr for interning at this place, and they said I could apply as a "head trainer" if i have all those accreditations when im done, sine 98% of PT's dont bother going to college, many PT's are athletes who use PT as a "backup" plan, and just grab one accredidatoin and apply for a planet fitness job at $18/hr and never progress.
(Master trainers at the club im doing the internship make $89/session (hour session) + sales (packages, group classes, etc.) as a starting salary, the gym gives you 15 sessions a week, and you have to fill in the rest of your clients through your own marketing. Plus you make $12/hr on the floor even if you aren't training. the $129/hr in per session, $12/hr is per hour. So i'd make $12/hr * 40 + sessions per week
I made $9/hr + $35/session before college working at a Golds gym), its a pretty sweet deal if you love training people, which I do!
I saved up about $35,000 before college (full year of PT living at my parents place w/ no bills other than gas = win), used most of it by now for rent, gas, my car, etc etc the last 4 years, now I have about $2K left to my name, but its way better than most college students.. hah!
