Haha it does look like that in those pics, doesn't it? It's actually a mix of both. There just happens to be more aspen in that one spot. I mix them because the ReptiBark helps with keeping humidity up, and the aspen is easier for Kaybe to burrow through which he loves doing. When I had aspen only the humidity was too low, but when I had ReptiBark alone, Kaybe (for whatever reason) wouldn't burrow. With a mix, it's a win-win situation. It's also what he's been used to for the past 2yrs, and Kaybe hates change At home in Miami I have the new Boaphile cages set up waiting for them, and they'll both have only ReptiBark. We'll see how he likes it

ugh i'd like to do that for my ball python (Spot is fine on just aspen) but I feed in their encloses, and I feed soaking wet prey. I wouldn't want my ball ingesting any of that reptibark - the humidity would be nice for him though

I feed my prey completely soaking wet too. Just offer it on a plate inside the enclosure. That way no substrate is ingested, and you can reap the humidity benefits of ReptiBark!
