Aww congrats You sure she's 6mos though? My male Pika at 6mos weighs over 400g

My little trick? I defrost it in a baggie in a cup of hot water. Keep changing the cold water out with hot until the rat is warm to the touch through the baggie, then use the tongs to grab the tail from inside the baggie and you're good to go. Works quicker that way, you don't get any scent on you, and you end up with aggressive feeding responses every time. I'm not personally a big fan of using my hairdryer on a dead rat, and you don't get any scent or other unmentionables blown around.
