Thinking about a snake :)

So I'm in north bay, it's like 2 hours away from sudbury were I live, my girlfriend is getting her hair done, so I decided to go see ghost rider 3D and I'm thinking to myself, I want a snake! Haha it's random but I think I want one! I want to get 1 more herp when the summer comes around, it's between a bearded dragon, or a snake of some kind! I want something I can handle lots with minimum stress! To show it off I don't really know what I want tips? Advice ?

Corn would be your best bet.Bomb proof more or less.
I have to agree with cdn blood..you should not get one if showing off is the main reason.

A corn snake is a great choice... Great for beginners, very forgiving, and tolerate handling really well

Apples and oranges my friend.
Both are very easy to care for but tell us more specifically what you want.

Re: Thinking about a snake :)

Well i loved showing off my dog before he died, he was a 170 lb rottweiler named bear, doesn't mean i didnt love him!

but i think the meaning behind it is a lot of people see "new snake owners" and going into snakes for a "badass" pet and not to actually take care of the snake as a pet/family member.

Also define what you think "lots" is, cause you wont have it out 5 hours a day or anything

Normally I agree with this but I have read most of Brady's posts and he has said he wants one to get over his fear a couple of times. I think it was mostly a poor choice of words this time.

I am going to recommend a garter. I think he would enjoy it more. I want a garter next!

Re: Thinking about a snake :)

IMHO although I do agree with Todd You do have a Sav so your commited.
If you can take care if the needs of a Sav most snake should be easy.
Again IMHO after getting boas, carpets, a royal, a king and a gopher , I have to say get a Royal ( ball python ) They are impressive to look at and easy to care for. Plus most will tolerate a few newbie mistakes. So my vote is ball python.
Good luck and post pics when you get one.

I agree. I've read all of bradys posts about his sav and I feel he has a genuine interest in the health and well being of his animals. So I didn't pick up on th show off quote. Go for a corn man ;-)
