Re: Some pictures of my male beardie.
Calci sand is a HUGE no no. The safest thing to use for substrate are paper towels, tile, newspaper, or linoleum. If you insist on using particle substrate, use children's washed play sand (available at any hardware store). Be sure his food bowl is up off the sand, though, and feed any live prey items in a separate container. Sand is a know cause of impaction.

I did not say I was using it or going to use it.Was just asking a question. The substrate I picked was because it was bigger size pebbles..less chance of injesting it....It least that was the theory.

I know, I was responding to your question. In all reality, finer particles will pass easier than larger ones.

Cute critter. Is it just me or has this place gotten tense lately?

It's not you, my guess is everyone is on edge because of all this bad press and stuff going around.
PS no offense intended to anyone, I'm pretty tense right now myself.

Re: Some pictures of my male beardie.
Tile is honestly the best Dragon substrate, I love it. If you worry about the burrowing or anything a lot of people have mini blankets or towels they use. But tile is great, trims nails, extremely easy to clean, its a one time buy and there is no risk with it.
Other wise though very handsome beardie, try giving a few soaks to get that stuck shed off

Wow, no need to be rude. Myself and the person who made the first comment are just trying to ensure that your animal is happy and healthy.

Re: Some pictures of my male beardie.
I had always used reptile carpet with mine, but I have recently switched to tile and I LOVE it. It's so easy to clean. When her messes on one, I just take it out, wash it off and stick it back in.
