Re: Veterinarian for hots

OVer here with a "dangerous" animal that goes to the vet as long as the vet is aware at the point that you make the appointment thent they are liable whilst the animal is on their premises - you are liable getting them there and back tho!!

Re: Veterinarian for hots

Appreciate it they want me to sign a waiver saying if I get bit transporting they are not responsible. I understand that I must get it there and back, as long as i'm not liable for him getting tagged.

Any suggestions on a way to get them there? I've never had to transport them to a public place with other people around before.

A tub with a secure lid and a bungee cord or two around it. You need to have it labeled on the top and all four sides that there is a live venomous snake inside.

And put the snake in a snake bag in the tub.

If I where you I would type up a waiver for them to sign. Cover your butt just in case.

All these are things you should be familiar with doing yourself before attempting to own these animals...

Statements like that don't do anything positive for me. Get over it. I've already explained the situation countless times in previous threads. I've been searching for near 2 years and finally found a vet to even treat them, which I hadn't planned on doing. No one around here is willing to teach, probably not even the vet. This isn't South Carolina, some of us don't have the luxury of a state so comfortable with hots.

Im not trying to do anything positive for you... There isn't a licensed vet who will treat any venomous snakes within a 125 mile radius of me. The situation is, you own an animal you can not provide for fully. I am not concerned with your safety only the safety of your crotalus. If you can not do something as simple as sex a snake, then what will you do when more complex problems arise? No one is responsible for your venomous animals but you, not a vet not anyone else, you took on the massive responsibility of ownership. Having to rely on a vet you have no personal relationship with to treat venomous animals is nothing short of irresponsible. There are no "luxuries" here, theirs just a right and wrong way of going about things. Their are multiple really well thought out reasons why more than likely no one you dont already know is going to teach you how to work with venomous snakes.

Re: Veterinarian for hots

Hey, I really don't care about your opinion. I've explained before these were going to be killed and I took them instead, they can't be re homed or released. So if you're so concerned with the safety of the precious crotalus, guess what, they're alive and living better than they were. I'm not gonna do this BS with you, k Have a nice day.
