I love Skyler's stripe and pattern on her sides.

That's what makes her a little different. Now if only we knew exactly what that *does* make her, LOL

Todd, I know that we've spent some time researching her appearance in an effort to figure out what species or locale she may be, but I have another idea. What if she's from some better know line (one that the majority of her markers would line up with), but is an example of an as of yet unexplored morph. A marble sided rainbow boa or something.

I know that doesn't make you or I get excited and see dollar signs or anything, but it's a possible explanation for her variance.

Had we been ball python guys, we'd have been hoping for this a long time ago, wouldn't we? LOL!

only one way to find out! Get a normal male and breed it out.

HAha! It's quite possible that she's something that's already been identified. It's also quite possible that she's not. It's likely that she's the result of overlapping territories, or even some unethical breeder.

I still have a sneaking suspicion that she's a Guyana Rainbow, which is thought to be a naturally occurring intergrade between Columbian and Brazilian.

Either way, like you said, dollar signs are NOT on my agenda, although out of all my snakes, they're the two I would like to breed once. I think people would be more inclined to keep them long-term than they would be if I bred my Carpets or Bloods - those poor things get passed around like trading cards in my area.

When all is said and done, you're the one with the *really* interesting Rainbow Boas (which I'd put money on being E.c.assisi) and since those are so rare in private collections, you should post a pic of them here for everyone to Oooh & Aaah over. You won't see those everyday

Re: 2-for-1 paint jobs

so, influenced by some of the more recent threads about various epicrates localities, it would seem your hunch about Skyler being a cross would be correct. If you check out Tom Crutchfield's site he's got a bunch of rainbow boas and there seems to be some influence of a couple on Skyler.
