Epicrates Cenchria Sp.

While we were all admiring the beauty of Todd's Epicrates, he suggested that I share a few photos of my own animals.

I'm told that the male was imported directly from Venezuela a number of years ago. I don't have much background on the female, but she was reported to be a Venezuelan rainbow as well. Of course there are rainbows in Venezuela, and there are a number of people who refer to a VRB species, but most of the literature does not indicate that Venezuelans are a species of their own. That leaves us kinda scratching our heads as to what these guys are.

I believe that the male is an '03 and the female is an '07, or thereabouts.

The male:

The female:

I've only had these guys about a month, so I was still working on that. Since you pushed me a little (lol)...how about Samson and Delilah? Yeah, I think I like those names .

Yep, those are the only 2 like that I've ever seen, and I've been around the block more times than I care to admit, lol. Very special animals, indeed.

I think there's a close link between those and Skyler and with enough exposure, someone out there just might have a subspecies ID we can all agree upon for each of them

If ever I've seen two candidates that should dip a toe in the gene pool, it's those. Of course, I'm speaking figuratively - I know they don't have toes

Hahaha, thanks, Todd. Yeah, I plan to breed them.

I see some real similarities between them and Skyler too.

These two and skyler definitely intrigue me.
