What to breed with this guy????

So my kids want to breed Mack ( short for Mackintosh seeing as he is very toffee coloured) and I am willing to spend a bit on a female. Gonna do it do it right. So this brings me to 2 problems:
1. I am not 100% on what Mack's "morph" is seeing as he is clearly a little different having minimal spots and no red.
2. I have no idea what other "morph" would go well with him.

Throw me some ideas and possible outcomes please.
This is Mack here.

Re: What to breed with this guy????

Forgot to add I have access to a female normal rtb. Actually 2. One I can buy the other is a pimping offer from a friend and we split the young. Both are normal rtbs this is one here.
Both look very similar.

Will or I mean should his clearity and colour be passed on or would I just get a bunch of normal rtbs??

Re: What to breed with this guy????

You are aware of the costs involved when breeding right? You've got space for all the young? You're lucking out you don't have to incubate the eggs but your husbandry has to be spot on.
Don't do it just to do it or because your kids want to. There's so many ethical issues when it comes to breeding.

Whatever you breed, just make sure you can place the babies.
You can get 30+ neonates in one clutch.
Every feeding day will cost at least 11 dollars in pinks.
Plus the vet bills etc etc.
I don't wanna detour you, just make sure you're ready.
If were to detour you I would be a hypocrite

Re: What to breed with this guy????

Yup I have researched the heck out of it and decided that yes we want to do it.
The cost.... Not an issue. We had planned to make a games room out of our garage that we never have put our car in but now its gonna be a dedicated reptile room. Husbandry will be spot on and space abundant.

Placing the young is why I hope to have something other than normal rtbs.
30 Macks would be great. I assume it will be a mix and I will get normals as well.
So again. What to do, what to do???

You don't know what morph Mack is?
You need to figure that out if you wanna breed
I assume you've asked the person you got it from.
He's probably just a really nice looking normal.

Re: What to breed with this guy????

I got him from a guy at an expo who truly didn't seem to know much about him.
I would have passed but my son had " love at first sight" and he looked healthy so for $200 I thought why not.
Pretty sure the guy at the expo bought him as part of a multi snake deal but wanted the females and dumped this male. He is really nice looking and pefect personality. I doubt he is anything to special but he is so clean with such little spotting. I have my fingers crossed that he is more than normal

Re: What to breed with this guy????

My guess, from what you've said in combination with those pictures and that morph guide, is that Mack is a Pastel. According to that site, Pastel is NOT a simple or proven genetic mutation, it's merely selectively bred. This means that his offspring will likely possess an intermediary appearance between his and the mother's.

Please note that I am far from a boa expert; I'm merely going off of what I'm seeing
