I don;t think th enecessarily need to be 4 though, it does very much depend on the snake. I paired my caramel female up at just under 3 years old, I felt she was ready, and she produced a healthy clutch of 19 eggs no slugs, and the following year 24 eggs no slugs.

i agree terry if i had a female that was large enough at around the age of 3 then i would breed her
only if she was up to size on a normal diet
i am in NO way suggesting you power fed the carmel coastal mate
i know your snakes get the best care going
