Bearded Dragon getting better
My new adopted bearded dragon is getting better. He was in really bad conditions. I just got him to eat a bunch of gutloaded crickets (they had him on only bait raised earthworms) which I can tell he loved. He's getting less nervous about me being near him, he's letting me touch him without gaping his mouth or puffing up his beard. He's basking now and I'm feeling good about him I think he's gonna be a great pet. Thank you everyone who has helped.

Re: Bearded Dragon getting better
I hope you are offering your crickets the same thing you are feeding your dragon. If your dragon is picky (my guy is) gut loading the crickets with the greens you would feed your dragon is more or less (probably less) getting into the dragon the nutrients of the greens.
Does he run all over the place catching the crickets? My old guy likes to try and catch his from mid air as we are dropping them into his tank. He is a funny and clumsy old guy and has yet to every catch a cricket from mid air. I hope to see pictures of your little guy soon!

Re: Bearded Dragon getting better
Sounds like you are going to have a great little buddy. I am glad things are going well for you and him (is it a boy for sure?)

Re: Bearded Dragon getting better
It is very easy to sex beardies. When he is comfortable with you handling him just lift the tail up a little (not too hard of fast you can hurt him) but when it is up look right behind his bum (underneath) if you see one bump it is a girl and if there is 2 bumps it is a boy. i will try to find a good picture to show you.

Re: Bearded Dragon getting better
The first is female and the second is male.
I found these pics, I don't suggest you lift the tail up that much. Usually you can tell by lifting it a little bit.

Actually I just learned that. But he still is a little shaken up and I don't want to lift him just yet. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to.
