This week Living Gems Reptiles profiles one of its adult animals, Onyx. Onyx is a May 2008 female. She has a nice, vibrant orange color; an amazingly consistent pattern of crescent side markings; and is half-sister to Agate. As of March 2011, Onyx weighed 1345 grams.

Here she is in a sequence of three shots under different lighting, all taken in February 2011:

I like the second pic best. Really shows her size and coloring so well. It's a rainbow, right?

Simply stunning!! I don't know anything about BRBs (other than discussion I've caught from this forum) but in my inexperienced opinion, I would say that is an outstanding specimen! I've only ever seen one in person, and it wasn't nearly that vibrant, love the richness of Onyx' color!

OK...I'm going to cheat and answer everyone in one post to avoid endless comments from one person. ;-)

Why *thank* you, Kat! She is definitely a high-end specimen, and while no Topaz or Promotheus, represents the quality level I aspire to for all 24 of my (eventual) breeders.

Thank you, annarawrr! She is a great snake and had a wonderful photo day that way...it does not always work out so well!
