The only reason I ask is a breeder friend of mine had a similar problem with his retic and when it healed it left a "scar" that came out about 2-3cm and every time the snake rubbed his face it aggravated him and he kept re-opening it. It was finally solved by cutting off the "lump" and letting it heal smooth.
