Snakes that dont eat much?

What snakes out there dont eat much? Like once every 3 weeks or more. The longer the better.
Im looking to get a second snake but would like something that doesnt need to be fed often and I have an 18x18x18 tank.

Uhh only the most lazy of snakes. None fit into an 18x18x18.

Maybe only the largest retics, burms, african rocks and anaconda's should be fed a monthly basis and I'm talking pigs/goats to a monster of a serpent!

The idea of a snake big enough to eat a pig somehow crammed into and 18x18x18 home is humerous to me. I don't know why.

If done right all you would see is a glass pane filled with snake. I am picturing albino.

Well I know there are snakes that fit into the 18x18 but maybe none that eat that little.

Re: Snakes that dont eat much?

Snakes can go several weeks without eating but I doubt it is a good thing...even the small ones. As I said though probably not a good thing. Is it hard to find food weekly for a smaller snake?

Not a baby. Small snake as in Hognose or Sand boa.
I was told my Sand Boa can be fed once every 2 weeks as an adult.

I got a hognose that hasn't eaten for at least 6 weeks and supposedly doing fine...but I doubt it is good for her.

Re: Snakes that dont eat much?

If you're trying to add a snake but conserve money, I'd say wait until you have appropriate funds. If your snake gets sick, but you purchased another snake just to fill a tank and are low on funding, what happens? The sick snake suffers.

I'm not trying to be rude, but that's what it sounds like. If it's not the financial burden associated with feeding 2 snakes versus 1, I'd love to hear your reasoning (if you don't mind).

No. Not a money thing. I just happen to have 2 kids and travel often but would like a snake that I can come home to after a week or two and not worry about it.
Its like buying a snake for its looks or temperment or any other quality.
We all have our preferences and its better to research your animal before you buy it for the animals own good. Im not one who just sees a pet and says, "Looks awesome man, Ill buy it." only to not be able to meet its requirements and sell it on Kijiji a month later.

Re: Snakes that dont eat much?

Understandable... Sometimes we feel trapped by our collection.

My wife is from Toledo, and her family is there. Last 3 years now she had to go visit alone, because I had to stay behind and care for the animals.

How many empty cages you have?

Re: Snakes that dont eat much?

Just two. A 12x12x12 and an 18x18x18. i know the 12 is small but Ive heard a sand boa can live in one alright for quite a while. But Im more concerned about what to get for the 18.
