How often do they urinate??

Hi Folks, i own an albino Burmese python. she is about 4ft long at 7months old (not sure of the age tho).

Anyway, she urinates a lot!!! she urinated last friday, then on sunday and just tonight? not sure if this is healthy or not... 3 times in 7 days... :crazy 2:

i live in the Philippines where the Temps are are 28 to 32 Celsius.

Actually i might relate this to my humidity where it is always high. it doesn't get lower than 80% in there vivs. i am not sure though...

any thoughts?

My albino Burm is the same way- copious amounts of pee, about every day for 3-5 days after he's been fed. Then it tapers off, but he pees a LOT.

oh really! thanks! so this has got nothing to do with my humidity?

anyway on a separate but related note... is it ok to keep the humidity high at all times??

Humidity should be allowed to drop some like in the wild. I mist once a day and it get up to 85% then let it dry out some and drop down around 65%. It's more natural. Plus if you keep it high all the time you could end up with mold issue.

might want to try to get the humidity down a little, only time i have it that high is around shedding time.

thanks for the advice... the thing is i am finding it difficult to keep the humidity down... hehe. or maybe my digital theremohygro is not calibrated well...

here you go. i cover the top with glass with a little gap for air... the gap is about 1/3 inch that runs the length of the aquarium. i hope i am not doing something wrong...

Try opening that gap up some more glass cages dont hold humidity if they have a lot of ventilation

your heat pad is under that hide right? and like chris said you really need some ventilation going in that cage. might want to get a tank top that has mesh on it and than cover that with your glass but keep about 3in of it open.

and what kind of cage are you going to get when its older? you going to buy or make one?
if i was you get its bigger cage soon as you can if you think he is too small just put more hides in there and he should be good.

Experiment with removing slightly more of the covering and measure the humidity them, am sure you will get it to the right amount with a little trial and error.

@ Jenn - i do not have heat pads since the temps here are at 28 to 31 Celsuis. i am planning on building one soon for my burm (Maybe a 6ftX3X3) and put my ball in the 50Gal (i have read they are good most of thier lives). I will try to fabricate a the mesh top this weekend... just don't undernstand the Gap "cover that with your glass but keep 3in open"? do you suggest to still put the glass plus the mesh of mesh cover all the way. thanks so much!

Instead of having a two inch gap try a three inch gap and see if that helps your humidity issues

yes cover the top with mesh so the snake cant get out and put the glass on top so all the humidity cant get out you just want some of it out not all, try the 3in gap 1st if the humidity is still high make the gap bigger.

and about temp. is it 31 celsuis in your house all the time? you still need a heat pad with a Thermostats...the thermostat will not let the heat pad get to hot...the basking area should be around 90 Fahrenheit (32,33 celsuis) and should never go under 78-80 Fahrenheit (26,27 celsius) or you can just get a heat lamp.

Understand Jenn! thanks a lot appreciate it.... i will get Thermostats as soon as i can... and yes temp in my house runs around 28 to 32 all the time... Philippines is a tropical country where temps and humidity are high.
