Red Tail escaped...need some help

so the mouse is set in the room that his cage in. I personally dont feel as if he left that room but realisticly he can be anywere...Im pretty sure snakes have a great sense of smell so I jus wanted to ask if its going to make a huge difference where i have the mouse....I just really want him back Its his first time lost and hes a very valued pet to me.
