I think of elapidae being no different to pythons or boas. If you handle them with respect and dont make any quick or jerky movements they will nearly never bite. I dont want to say wont as i know when you play with fire you will get burnt.
I just love how these guys hardly ever sit still and always put on a good show at feeding time.

I think of them similar but many that I keep would nail you if given the chance. Not many here keep aussie venomous because they are very costly. They all have to be imported and do to their rariety demand high prices. Not venomous but I'd kill for spencers monitors (one day)! They are between $2,500 - 5kea plus shipping from over seas! I love aussie herps but would rather spend my money elsewhere at this point.
