Re: stressed again?
It very well may stress her out. How about just leaving the snake alone? They aren't social creatures. She won't hiss if you aren't bothering her.
Try feeding her again in a few days. Leave her alone first.

Re: stressed again?
I personally would get rid of the snake, seeing as you had the cat first. The cat should be your first responsibility. Or, you could move the cage to an area where the cat can't get too. Depending on how big the cage is, build a stand for it, put it on the counter, on a table somewhere. where is the cage currently?

Re: stressed again?
if its stressed you might want to leave it alone for a while... you shouldnt need to get rid of the cat or the snake... both is just stupid.... i have three cats and three snakes and i have no problems at all... if they cat is doing more than laying near the cage like attacking it or trying to get the snake then maybe you should try a little thing everyone thinks is wrong now called discipline... make sure that cat knows he/she isnt alloud to do that... when my cats start getting excited and running around the cage (too much traffic for the snakes) NOW that i have disciplined them all i have to do is snap me fingers and tell them out and they leave the room with their tails in between thier legs and sit at the door and stare... lol if you play loud music with a sub or anything with alot of hard and big vibrations that is also stressing the snake out... make sure your temps and humidity is correct and keep the traffic around the cage to a minimum... if you have to move the cage to a less busy room... do so... hope i helped!

Re: stressed again?
thanks for the advice, i think i need to put the tank in a less usable room, right now its on an end table in the living room cause we didnt know where to put it. and 2nd to daskuppler..you have no idea what you are talking about!! but i AM getting rid of my cat..not cause of the snake but because i am allergic to it even tho i didnt know that when i got it. the quiet room makes sense, so i think i will move it to my room in the bedroom and keep it nice and quiet for dremora..thanks

That is a MUCH better reason to get rid of the cat... i hate when people have animals they just dont care about... its stupid an pointless... at least you have a logical reason for getting rid of something... let me know how it goes after you move the tank! if you have to you can put something infront of the tank so the snake cant see whats going on out there... it might give him/her a little more privacy which snakes like...

P.S. what kind of a python do you have and how big is it and how often are you feeding it? and what size rats are you feeding it?

shes a juvie ball python and we feed her small adult mice around once every 5-7 days and we also have large adult mice which i am not using yet, i feel she should eat the small ones first, they are a little bigger than the hoppers we were feeding her and she didnt have a problem last week eating the one i gave her, i know everyone says to switch to rats but the only rats my pet shop has is the really large ones for pets not for snakes. and..we got a really good deal on the frozen mice. 50 for 10 dollars. 25 small and 25 large. and other than the last time i fed her last week, this is the first time she has eaten frozen thawed, i was feeding her live but then she started being afraid of the live so i used fresh killed and that worked so we progressed to frozen thawed. i hope that helps, shes a cutie for sure..heres a pic
this was taken when we first got her..quite a few months ago, shes been thru 4 sheds since then and is a little longer now

Re: stressed again?
She looks to be a she to me! lol are the mice the same size or a little larger than her girth? if so you're feeding her the right size... if they arent making a small lump in her stomach then they are too small and you need to move to the next size up... i'm still not sure about feeding two mice at one time... i hear its ok to do it but i hear it takes alot out of the snake and its just better to move a size up... i dont like taking chances so i'd move a size up instead of feeding two...

Re: stressed again?
Just use up the mice you've got. Maybe only feed on the five day schedule. They'll go faster and she'll grow quicker.

Re: stressed again?
Hi there, hard to tell off the one photo, but the tank looks quite exposed (from the snake's point of view) I too have a glass tank with a 10 mth old BP (only supposed to be baby sitting for 2 months, owner not come back, looks like im his daddy now!!)
I have covered 3 sides of the tank(2 sides and back) on the outside with black foamcore sheets to give said snake more of a feeling of security, plus the foamcore helps to retain heat in the tank a bit. Also an idea to add more furniture to his enclosure to minimize open space , stuff like shredded newspaper, cardboard tubes etc. The 2 common reasons for Not eating i have been told are wrong temps (too cold can slow down digestion/metabolism) and animal not feeling safe and secure in its environment. If you cover 3 sides of the tank, its 3 less POV of a big moggy staring at the BP though the glass.
Don't handle the snake unless doing a full clean of the tank till at least a good few sucessful feeds, if shes hissing then she is really letting you know that shes very upset(her last resort will be tagging you if the hissing isnt working)
They are bloody fussy eaters BP's, mine has started to taking f/t stuart littles into his hide for a sleepover!!! weird, anyway he finally ate one last night instead of using it as a teddy bear.
Anyway its all a learning curve..like i say im a noob so this is my experience so far with not eating, stress etc, and i may be wrong with all my so called advice! regards
Scott
