You'd get babies that were 50% hets for both and 50% normals. For example, if you got four eggs, 2 of the babies should carry both genes and two babies won't. If I'm wrong then someone can correct me.

Sorry to correct you, but...
That original pairing would give you these odds...
25% DH orange/desert ghost
25% het orange ghost
25% het desert ghost
25% normal
