I got a new plant!!!

We got a nice shipment of Tripica plants in at work the other day and I found some beautiful lotus plants!!! Dark red and purple leaves with dark greenish spots!!!! If anyone wants one get em soon 'cause they're that nice!! I baught the nicest one already though. It's right in the middle of my plant tank where I hope it will grow like a weed! I love it! I've never had one before! Shane you'll have to come over sometime with that digital camera and take a few pics!!!

Lizzy, that sounds like a really cool plant. Do you know the proper or given names for it? Maybe ill look on tropica's site. Is is somewhat like the geen broad leafed one you see with white spots...ive had those before...and sure, one day we will definately get some pics!

Cool, a lotus was the last thing that i would have guessed. Yeah those are really nice, ive had different ones over the years....they love light and make sure that there is a little space between the water line and the top as they need to reach the surface, and once they do they almost always flower. I had a really cool yellow variety once that had a different leaf pattern and it got huge....thats the only draw back is that these things can get monsterous.

I've seen them as display plants in Big Al's, but I was never able to buy one. I hope it gets huge! That's what I want! It's hovering over my crypts so it can grow to it's heart's desire! It's about 8 inches off the gravel now and has 3 inch leaves. The crypts were getting a bit to much light there anyways.
