breeding bettas

First of all I want to say that I also posted this on "All things aquatic" as well.

okay, here is what I did:

The male was aloud to view the female for about 3 days. He blew some bubbles in this time. Then I put her in his 10gal tank, 1/2 full with water. They did a sort of courtship dance, but mostly he ignored her. Then, a week later there was a huge foam nest, about 1cm high, and not like the bubbles he usually make. In another week and a half, the bubble nest suddenly lost its integrity and is now gone. This whole time the male and female have been together.
My questions are:
1. Should I remove both parents in case there are little ones in there?
2. How long does it take for the female to produce eggs?
3. How long until she can do it again? (in case i've messed up.)
