I've just started regularly handling my new baby Cali King every other day and after every session he starts being really active, roaming around the sides of his enclosure, climbing up the sides, and going up to that nook between the side and the screen cover. He has never shown signs of being stressed when handling but it almost seems like he tries to escape after I handle him so I am worried he is getting stressed from handling. Should I continue handling until he gets used to it? should I handle him less often? or should I leave him be for a bit? Any responses are appreciated!
I by no means no much about this, but I would think that he is just exploring, and that he is perfectly fine. Snakes naturally follow leading lines in nature, so him going along the sides of his enclosure is perfectly normal. As long as he doesn't seem stressed while handeling, I wouldn't think this is a problem. Hope this helps!
