They are there but not as common as the media here makes out
Biggest one in my yard was about 4' or so.
It was hiding under my beer fridge, I told the missus about it and went to work,
She was worried about our dogs, tried ringing the rangers and snake catcher, they didn't answer their phones,
So she rung the cops, and they came and killed it, not happy.

I told her afterwards it had proberly been living in the yard for years, eat our green tree frogs.
