Folds in skin

Hi I just noticed alot of folds in Hypress my Hog island boa's skin. I also noticed she pooped I am not sure if she had the wrinkles before or after she pooped. I will include some pictures

Re: Folds in skin

If it's just along the tail, it's possible they're there because of the poop, yes. My sunglow loves to hold in her poop and she sometimes gets those folds after she unloads...if it's all along her sides, I'd bump the humidity, generally the vertical stripes are from too low of humidity. I'd go for 70-80%, or however high you can get it without causing condensation.

Re: Folds in skin

You should be able to upload the photos to a site like flickr or photobucket and then share the link here and then it should work that way. Maybe try that? Sorry, I'm not much help without pics :/

Re: Folds in skin

Picture someone at the end of the biggest loser with all the skin flaps. But then turn that into a snake and that's what she looks like. She also has a pearlescent stomach

Re: Folds in skin

Yup shedding is another possibility, the flaps are usually centered around the head/neck area than all over, and they'll be deep in blue. I usually don't see it before they go into a blue phase and it normally mostly goes away by the time they clear back up.

This is my girl Tirel showing an extreme case of jowls. haha
