Best automatic humidifier?

I'm trying to figure out which snakes are feasible for me to keep. Every so often I need to leave my house for a few days, and it's part of why I chose my current snake-- he's a lower humidity species and (at least where I live) doesn't really need to be misted. I'd love to get a boa or python eventually, but I can't really commit to misting 1-2+ times a day.

So I'm wondering what everyone's experience is with automatic misters/humidifiers. Have you found one that works well? About what humidity level can they be trusted to keep the enclosure at?

I'm probably committing a sin here but unless the snake has a specific humidity requirement (GTP or rainbow boa for example) I don't worry too much about humidity. I must the Boa some days and make sure humidity doesn't get too low < 50% but other than that it fluctuates between 50 and 80 %.

Never misses a shed and always sheds in one piece.

In a number if cases too much humidity is worse than too little and I certainly wouldn't entertain an auto mister for most snakes. Way OTT imo unless you are in a very dry part of the world.

That's a good point. I hadn't really thought about too much humidity... I live near the coast, and the least humid it gets is midsummer afternoons when it hasn't been raining. Those still average 50%, so a snake that needs 40~60% humidity like a lot of these guys seem to should be fine.

The problem is probably more during other seasons, because even though it's more humid outside, I have dry heat. I figure anything that makes my lips peel must be bad for a python or boa...
