We feed cows to cows too. And they're vegetarian. Explain that one to me. And fish. We feed fish to cows so they'll have more fatty acids in their milk.
I'm just disturbed by any manner of consumption of animals I consider pets. I don't like the idea.

Not liking it on a personal level is one thing but condeming it as morally wrong is another. Cows would never eat cows in the wild but a snake would certainly eat a dog or cat. Not the same issue.

My favorite animals are turtles. I had pet turtles growing up. Yet one of my favorite meats is turtle.....

I've kept sheep as "Pets" until they were old enough to go to slaughter, same with pigs, geese, chickens. I'm open to the idea of eating dog (assuming it's cooked nicely right...)
And even snake! In the wild you don't think they'd get eaten by one thing or another?

I have tried rattlesnake before (at a wild game dinner..lots of different wild animals cooked different ways so people can try them) it was pretty darn good, actually...I wouldn't hunt them to eat them, though...

I could feed any already dead animal to my snakes, no problem. I think it's a great idea to use euthanized animals as feed... why waste meat? I'm not a fan of watching live feeding so I don't know how I'd feel about that. I'll personally try just about anything as food for myself, as long as it's prepared well.

I would feed any animal, as long as it doesn't have anything in it that would hurt the snake

rats, mice and chickens are my pets I some of them I love more (yes i have favorites) then my cats or dogs....why are you saying its right to feed rats and mice and chickens but not dogs?

I agree. I consider my mice to be just as much a part of the family as my cats and dogs. I wouldn't feed my favorite mice, but I feed their siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, non-related friends, etc. If a cat or dog has not been killed with any toxic chemicals then I see no issue with feeding an already dead cat or dog.

I find it interesting how many people put a moral line on the dog or cat being dead first. I wonder how many would feed a live rodent if necessary
