That looks like a white pine to me... Not 100% though.
the bark looks sappy. I would be careful with that one.

last piece is definitely pine of some sort, if you peel the bark off all your samples it would be a lot easier, You can usually tell the difference from a soft wood tree like pine from a hard wood tree like oak or birch by the wood grain. Im only going of the limited knowledge i have from what my uncle taught me (he makes furniture)

If it looses leaves in the winter then it is not cedar or pine, that's for sure I would imagine most deciduous woods are safe for animals, if that is where we're getting at? There might be some resinous ones though that might not be good.

Definitely looks like Locust of some type. Maybe black like the others have mentioned.
