Personally i find it's ok to kill something to eat... but i dont like the way it was done, i noticed they had pinned the snake against the rock wall with the tip of the knife! im sure that must have hurt .. and i agree with everyone that they sure wasted it once they killed them..i guess they're stomachs controlling their actions now! lol (i cant really blame them, id kill myself if i had to eat the little amount they do )

YEa you guys are way to sensitive about this topic. The situation was either kill a snake and eat it or nto eat. It's not like a shark makes sure the snake doesnt feel and pain before he eats it.
How else were they supposed to handle a highly venoumus snake?
I do agree how stupid they were trying to catch the sharks with it though. Concidering neither of them knew how to throw a spear.
I was rooting for the sharks for sure. Ive always said they call the show survivor I want to see someone survive a shark attack or snake bite. lol

Anyways they should have just eaten the snakes.

What's the big deal?

For one, they are not allowed to kill animals on islands or areas that don't have a large population there. To find three snakes with ease shows how many are around. I am sure they know what they are allowed to kill and what they are not. It was clear they knew they were allowed to use them as food.

It was STUPID to try and kill those, but they did it, and got some food. They also did not waste all the snake on the shark.

They have killed chickens, rats, and other animals on the show before. Just because it happened to be an animal I like doesn't mean I am going to stop watching it.

I felt bad when the girl "forgot" the name chomped on grasshoppers - what no defense for grasshoppers

Actually I agree with Shadow, although the meat was wasted and there was a plan............end result hungry people trying to eat make good/bad decisions

Merisa and Tony I couldnt agree with you more.
I also didnt know they had kept some snake meat. Not as stupid as I thought they were. I would try and kill a hot snake if i had to eat. Keep your distance and its all good. There was more then one of them doing it also.
But standing chest or waist high in water you know has three good size sharks in it, that sence blood. I don't know, I think I would have been out of there mighty fast, lol

I think that is what angered me the most. Let's kill and eat these snakes.....but then they wasted it on trying to catch the sharks.

Not trying to start anything here.....but, Survivor is a TV show....designed to generate ratings and money. I personally think the whole thing is a set up and that there really isn't that much "reality" to it anyhow. Hence the anger/dissapointment for killing the snakes. I think that if they hadn't been highly venomous snakes, they probably wouldn't have even aired the scene. Venom = danger = ratings and $$$$

JMO though

so why do you watch it?
heheh sorry to disagree with you tim, but I doubt everyone would keep their mouths shut if the sponser of the show said "hey we know their is 20 of you but we`ve already decided to give Ian the money - thanx for comming out - you all know this is set up and this is the way things are gonna play out!"

Do they also put them all on weightwatchers during the show to make sure they loose weight too?

I also think it is funny you said they only aired that part because the snakes are vemonous - I guess the pig, and rats were vemonous too - not to mention those highly dangerous grasshoppers!
Notice how they show them catch those tiny little fish - they would have shown them hunting anything, its part of the show.

I know it sux they killed the snakes - but oh well, its done. The funny thing is when we were watching it - I said to my B/F "watch now there will be some lthread about this on ssnakess." I guess i am psychic!

Its all for the cameras, once they call cut....the reality stars run behind the bushes get a ice cold cappuccino, do there nails, medicate those wounds and get a massage and make-up just to get back on screen stating they are hungry and I hate this person that person

I remember one of the old series where 1 member fell asleep making a fire and fell right into the fire, of course got burnt and there was the hospital helicopter there in a short time (depending on how much tape they cut) and he was off.....middle of no where hmmmmm

Actually I wish I was on the show, not for the million dollars be nice but not main goal, last up to being 2nd or 3rd and deal with that many days of a strong solid diet, be nice to lose 20 lbs that easy

But even more is to get registered for other shows. Anyone see Amazing Race this week..........Rob/Amber are on that show now too and came in 3rd for first leg of the race. When did a million not go as far as it did that we need to see them again

Tony

I like how at the beginning of the show Rob and Amber said that they wanted the money so they could 'buy a house, settle down and raise a family'. My question was: what the hell happened to the first million? can't buy a house with that? how greedy do you really need to be?????

SNEAKY BOA:

Bingo - exactly, even more during it people in the areas were helping them. I mean its a good plan but it shows as well how dumb they are as well that they can coast through the race like this. The airline "delayed" crap never happened in any season then it just does. Its normal to see delays but the fact that Rob/Amber were last.............hmmm I wonder how delayed that flight came to be, lol.

Having them on the show as long as possible creates ratings so they just might not be last for a long time, lol.

I' m old school I think a million can and does last long if used right, but yeah they are greedy who isn' t when offered another chance at a million

I'm guessing Rob and Amber were probably asked to be on Amazing Race to help there ratings. Always helps to have someone on the show everyone knows.

As far as why I watch survivor - I guess I'm a sucker. I didn't mean that they have it predetermined who is going to win. Just that they have the ability to make certain things happen, and they can edit everything to help make it look more exciting.

I just find it an amazing coincidence that there is a "big event" every week that thye advertise to get people to watch it every week. Like I said I'm a sucker and still seem to get drawn in.....just to see how crazy the next week will be.

LOL, actually if we wait about 10 years or so we' ll see some FOX expose on Survivor and who really hated who and how it was rigged and who was kept on some diet and who had a hidden past and so on, lol.

Only part of these reality shows that is real is us suckers watching it. The 80s were sitcoms and game shows, the 90s were drama and more game shows revolving winning a million or more cause the $5000 jackpot lost interest and Bob Barker still has not decided on a apprentice for his show, lol.

Now its 2000 and beyond and they have to hit every idea of a reality show be it living on an island, doing a world race, win a title for UFC, win a title with Stallone for a boxing chance plus there are 2 shows like this, be it deal with a ignorant fake actor and be his apprentice, be an apprentice with Trump, win a new life after losing weight, marry a guy/girl after a few fantasy dates, cry me a river and build me a new house, exchange my wife for 50K - and the list goes on.

Tony

EDIT:

I gave each of these shows 1 viewing but Survivor, Amazing Race and UFC still have my 1 hour a week viewing, lol.

That's the only real part of ANY tv show, movie or anything else. All TV is tv people! Just TV.
