You didn't say changing the animal itself to be completely different. Komodo Dragon naturally bro.
I could be a wet blanket and go on about how venomoid animals aren't cool.

I agree, venomoids are not cool. I don't think that is what reptiledude987 was talking about. Hew as just asking if venomous snakes were legal and not dangerous o keep, what ones would you want to have. He never said anything about surgically altering the snake. This thread is about what if.

That's why I like hognoses though is because they remind me of rattlers.
Dream lizard...Gila monster and an American alligator.
Dream GIANT snake....the purple fire albino retic, and a rather normal burm. Not a fan of condas though.
All are dangerous, all make me happy, will probably never own any. Lol.

Well I'm glad somebody got what I was getting at. That was the point here. If they didnt have the ability to kill me I'd have a few of the different types of bush vipers.

For me, it would have to be a hatchling king cobra! They have to be one of the most striking in appearance. I mean fresh out of the egg!

Ive always assumed that it is an animal capable of injecting venom and envenomating a human being (aka: a "hot"), whether front hinged fang, front fixed fang, or rear fang. Front hinged fangs species include Crotalus/Sistrus (Rattlesnakes) and other Pit Vipers and Viperidae. Front fixed fangs including Naja (Cobras) and Mamba species, rear fanged including Boiga Dendrophila (Mangrove) and even Hognose snakes.

Venomoids are hots that have had their venom glands removed. I'm not sure if hots that have fangs removed count since they grow back and can still produce venom.
As far as the original question goes, I'm not sure. It's a tough call, but I'd probably go with a Trimeresurus mangshanensis-Mangshan Pit Viper.

I'd like an Albino Monocled Cobra.
