Have you ever seen this on a belly?

So I've had my own ball pythons for about 3 years, never had any problems with either of them! A buddy of mine is moving cross country and decided he didnt want to bring his ball (a year old i believe) along for the ride, so i told him that i would take him! when i got him and his tank 2 days ago, he had i think aspen shavings to line it (im a firm believer of paper towel/newspaper) and last night when i got him out cause his shed looked a bit odd on one side, i noticed his belly had a 2 inch line of what looked like scabs. i have never seen anything like this in my own snakes, so i immediately pulled everything out of his tank and wiped it all down and lined it with newspaper and soaked him in warm water for about an hour while i looked up to see what i could find.. absolutely nothing. the scabs loosened up and peeled off when he was back in his tank and now theres the underlying cuts(?) exposed.. help!
