Spiny Backed Orb Weaving spider

I have heard that this spider has a ton of different names, but this seems to be the most common. I am suuper fearful of spiders, but this little guy has been living right outside my backdoor now for about two weeks, so he has kind of become a naturaly existing pet. I decided to try and take some pictures of Crabby today (Ive named him Crabby), but my camera is not to apt on taking macros. But I thought it would be cool to show him off anyway, since he is quite the looker. I only call him a he because males stay in the 2-3mm range and females get to the 10mm range, but I am not too versed on spiders so it would not surprise me if I was wrong. Hope you enjoy!

He has a really good looking web going, it's about 5'Wx3'H!
