any suggestions??
so i was talking to my parents about getting a BRB and unfortunately they said no boas or pythons. ( this is absolutely and totally unfair) but any suggestions on a new snake other than a milk, king, or corn snake, that my parents might say yes to?

Given that your parents have pretty much limited your choices...you might want to reconsider garter snakes, they definitely are beautifully patterned and interesting to watch being that they are awake during the day more than the night (well mine are awake all the time it always seems!)
You don't have alot of options left....

Re: any suggestions??
no milk, king, corn, or garter......
ok then...this is going to be difficult!...lol
how about a western hognose? they're cute little guys.
are you strictly into snakes? maybe your parents would warm up to lizards a little better than snakes? Just wondering. I have two daughters about your age. They are 16 and 15. They grew up with me, so of course they grew up with snakes, lizards, turtles, etc.

Why??
Hard to impress your buddies??
I have made a lot of really great friends with my garter snake collection.
They are not considered a "poor mans snake" anymore.
I have snakes here that cost hundreds of dollars to get.

Re: any suggestions??
I take it their rule has little to do with the actual type of snake & more concern as to its size?
Bring home an 8ft Beautysnake or Indigo & see how they like that Vs a Sandboa or a Childrens Python LOL
Maybe try to educate them more about the various types of snakes & explain that all Boids do not get excessively large etc. & many saty very small & docile.
A BRB is a very reasonable choice & will stay smaller & less "aggressive" than many Colubrids etc. Mark

Tell them that well seasoned snake breeders (toots own horn LOL) are supporting your choice & that they should spend some time with you actually learning what is what & sharing some time with you as parents humoring their child & his hobby Cheers Mark

Re: any suggestions??
How about a big Pinesnake that you can hear hiss from a block away that would probably never strike LOL Mark

Nice choice. Aggressive feeders, easy care, medium size.
