I have one better. My 10 year old son had a teachers aide doing a slide show about reptiles. When she was done she said to raise your hand for questions. This poor girl didn't have a chance.
During her presentation, she said that the komodo dragon is the longest lizard. He told her that, yes, it is the largest as for bulk and wieght, but the croc monitor is the longest.
She also said the the komodo and the iguana are the only true lizards to exceed 3 feet in length. He told her that was wrong also. He invited her over to see our savs, argus, blackthroat and tegu if she wanted proof.
I found out about her embarassing situation when she called me at home later the same evening to complain about my son making her look bad in front of the other students.
I told her if she had her facts straight and knew what she was talking about, she wouldn't have looked like a fool.
I am not going to correct my son for telling the rest of his class in a subtle way that when it comes to reptiles, he is smarter than the college grad.
To think, next year she will be teaching somewhere full time.

Ya to kap10cavy I did a few reptile talks at my brother-in-laws school and thought it was really funny, the dumbest questions I was asked were all from the teachers. And I have to admit, they are not just dumb about reptiles either, haha, good to know who's teaching our kids.
