Instruction on ball python breeding in Denver

Hello all I am looking for someone who would be willing to teach me the ins and outs of breeding snakes. Right now I am interested in ball pythons, because I have always been fascinated with genetics and there is so much variation. If you would like some help with some help with your animals on the weekends, I am your guy. I have been doing plenty of research online, but you never know the quality of the information you are reading and I have always been a hands on learner. If any of you know of a reliable source, I would like to know about it.

Another possibility, try visiting a local reptile show. Most sellers are more than happy to talk with you even after they find out you're not going to buy anything. Let's face it, we like to talk about our reptiles to one another. Just be polite and make room for paying customers and you should be fine. I know that I've had mostly positive experiences.

Anthony, I would be willing to help out with the limited knowledge I have but you should join your local herpetological society and mingle in that venue. I have been successful with both python Regius and thamnophis in the past. I am still learning but I do have something to contribute. Feel free to email or pm me anytime. Don't forget about about reaching out to people like Garrick Demeyer and Ralph Davis. Two big time breeders who will be glad to discuss breeding and genetics with you also. Jeff is also another resource for genetics and breeding of both python Regius and thamnophis. Thanks guys you both have some great advice. I actually went to a show earlier today with the sole intention of talking to some breeders. Even though I was able to talk to several my goal was thrown off course. I purposely didn't bring any money and brought the wife, to help resist temptation. Unfortunately I had been talking about all the cool genetics involved in the ball python hobby with her last night, and apparently my powers of persuasion are more powerful than I thought. Long story short we ended up coming home with a beautiful baby kingpin female. With the piebald male that is awaiting better weather for shipping I should be on my way to breeding in a few years. This should give me plenty of time to figure out all the details.

That's great Anthony! Glad to hear you are moving closer to your goals. It really is a lot of fun breeding reptiles. Kingpin and pied is a nice choice too. Anything and everything pied is a nice choice to me.The lesser gene is also cool as well.

Haha, I am not sure we will ever have racks upon racks but you never know. She really enjoys the snakes. She has gotten pretty good at dealing with baby snake dramatics, with our nippy black rat snake and musking Imperial pueblan.

Well you'll need to keep multiple babies back because you won't be able to choose just one female.... and then it starts.
