Question Tankmates

Recently I got a uromastyx and I have been looking at info about them. I keep seeing people housing uros and other things together like bearded dragons and tortoises together. Are either of these suitable tankmates? are there any besides them? Or I shouldn't house my uro with anything else.

Re: Tankmates

you shouldnt house different species together and though there are successful pairings of FEMALES cohabiting, it can still lead to aggression between the 2.

Re: Tankmates

From what I know of most reptiles, it's generally just better to house them separately. It can be made to work, but I don't see any reason to try to force it and hope it does. I'm sure your uro will be perfectly content by himself.

Re: Tankmates

I forgot to mention that the enclosure would have to be big enough for both (even if they're females) to have their own space,

That being said I have my Lacertas in one tank as a pair without incident

Re: Tankmates

I agree! I personally would never house 2 different species together not a risk worth taking
