Biter Rat's Days are Numbered
We did not raise this rat up. He was part of that colony acquisition a while back that helped to boost our breeder numbers to the level they are now. Anyway, his temperment is also not like the ones we raised up. He is a biter. He bit Laura last week and drew a lot of blood and just the other day as I was weighing him, he bit me in the finger, also drawing some blood. Its too bad too because he is still fairly young and weighs in at 469g. That makes him a XXL, almost XXXL. Last week, when he bit Laura, he was designated Betty food and the other day when he bit me, that just sealed his fate. The only thing that is delaying this sentence is the fact that Black Betty is in blue. When that is done, he is next on her menu. We dont keep or breed biters and he is no exception.

I feel horrible for laughing at this. If only they knew what being aggressive led to.

Re: Biter Rat's Days are Numbered
good riddance to a bad rat. He looks tasty, I'm sure Black Betty will enjoy him. Do you kill the rats before you feed your owns snakes? Just wondering, I know some rat breeders who do and some who don't.

Re: Biter Rat's Days are Numbered
Lol, I too feel awful for laughing, but I'm sure Betty will be happy. I work with rats in my neuroscience lab, and we had one that was just pure evil. The thing bit me in the webbing between my thumb and index finger while I was separating them for weaning. It would NOT let go- the vet tech had to use a pencil to pry him off my hand, then he bit her on the tip of her thumb and I had to pry him off her....then he got me between my index and middle finger, and I screamed and flung my hand and he went flying. We caught him with a net and got him back into the cage, but I did not feel at all sorry when experiment time came for him.....awful little rat b**tard.

Re: Biter Rat's Days are Numbered
Ive seen Black Betty fly across that 6' Neodesha from the corner she was in to the opposite corner, snatch a 5 lb rabbit and fold it completely in half all before landing in the original corner she was in and all this took less than a second. She weighs 27 lbs. (thats 12,400g). I dont think a 469g rat is any match but I appreciate your concern and will take that into consideration.

I know its slightly macabre and twisted, but I kind of want to see this rat's demise...
