Easter Feeding
In honor of Easter weekend, and the availability of amazing deals on seasonal prey items, I decided it was time to introduce my rapidly-growing baby Brazilians to rabbit pinks.
Unfortunately, I’m saddened to report that none of the babies recognized the value of this strange new food type.
Would any of the more experienced keepers have any insights as to why that is?

The prey is carefully introduced.
The baby examines the prey item.
This is where things go wrong. The baby is clearly not interested in this—
Hey, look, a camera!
I’m so outta this greasy spoon…
One final attempt at prey re-introduction.
Sadly, I cannot recommend these cuties as snake prey, bargain though they may be.
And…
Have a great April everyone!!!!

Re: Easter Feeding
That is priceless!!! Did you warm the pinks up before introducing them? The snake might like them better if they're all hot and gooey, hehehe

Re: Easter Feeding
I'm not sure they're chemically stable at that point. In an even better reason not to pre-heat, I'm even less sure I want to chase down a squirmy, bitey baby snake to peel off a marshmellow treat stuck to his head. Pass!!! ;-)
Thanks for reading,
