Down but not out......
Going under the knife Monday. Broke my collar bone this last week skiing. So badly damaged it will take a plate and screws to get all the pieces back together. At least with surgery it should actually heal quicker and straight.
Wish me luck!!

Wow. That looks like my X-ray from when I was 18. Unfortunately we couldn't afford surgery and I just wore the butterfly straps. Good luck.

Re: Down but not out......
Good luck! Prayers sent. I feel your pain. I got out of the army about a year and a half ago and been waiting to get back surgery ever since. I ended up getting a compressed spine and one fractured disk and one disk that was crushed. Needless to say it's quite painful. I had planned on retiring out of the army but that kinda cut those plans short. So again good luck with your surgery better to get it fixed ASAP then wait lol

Re: Down but not out......
Thanks everyone, looks like this will be the better and faster road to recovery.
korbin5895 - how'd yours end up healing?
lankyrob - wow, how did that affect you essentially not having the one collarbone?
kingsnakechris - I hope the army will be footing the bill, our servicemen and women deserve whatever it takes to help them with what they lost/damaged serving their country.

Re: Down but not out......
Has no affect on me whatsoever, but then i have so many other issues that i am not overly active - not sure if it would have more impact if i was still able to train

Re: Down but not out......
Dave, when we told you to take a break, this is not what we meant....
Hope the surgery and healing both go fast and smooth!

Re: Down but not out......
Back home and feeling better, surgery went well. Recovery has already had it's ups and downs. All in all doing much better.
