Re: Feeder fish for a sav?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but goldfish contain thiamine and therefore should not be fed to any reptiles?
Why are you feeding fish to a sav anyway?

Re: Feeder fish for a sav?
you should not feed feeder fish to anything to be honest, i dont even understand how they are called feeder fish in the first place? lol even if bread them yourself, and had the water clean, Unlike pets store, which would exhaust their profits completely if they ever tried to keep up the water quality of a feeder fish tank..they still dont have much of anything healthy for any thing, they are only good for watching them get eatten lol even in the fish world its taboo.

Goldfish = Thiaminase - Blocks thiamin absorption in reptiles.

That's easy to do, just get a whole bunch, keep them in the right container with some compost and nature takes over from there.

Silversides are safe fish, but they usually come frozen.

Re: Feeder fish for a sav?
Chomper was fond of the organic trout.. I would not call it a staple food, but as part of a varied diet, yes.
