Re: Get to know my fellow members
Hello, I'm Kim. I'm in my 5th year of a Ph.D. program in neuroscience. I plan to teach at a college and run a lab when I graduate- studying how Ritalin affects developing young brains.
I have been keeping snakes for 7 years, and lizards for over 15 years. I've always had some reptile or amphibian since I was a little kid. Other hobbies of mine include working on my '63 Cadillac, target shooting, sculpting, and hiking. Also, shopping for reptiles! :-p
Hmm, funny reptile antics- probably the funniest thing I've seen in a long time is my big old Burm, Trogdor. Trog will press his face up against his glass when he sees food. When I offer it to him, he sits with his mouth wide open, waiting for me to put the food in his mouth. He's such a lazy ham.

Re: Get to know my fellow members
I'm Sean! I'm currently a true Junior in Mechanical Engineering at San Jose State. I'll probably do graduate work before entering the "real world". I've always been fascinated by reptiles, and although I only have the one now, I know that'll change as soon as I have the space and money to spare
As for antics, you can actually still find the thread on here. Back when Vermicelli was just a little shoestring, I thought he had escaped. After nearly a week of frantic searching and tearing my room apart, I came home from work to see him sitting out by his water dish. I watched in disbelief as he looked at me, slithered over to a blow-molded hollow aquarium log, and crawled in through a hole a little smaller than a dime. Basically, the little twerp had just been hiding for the week haha

Re: Get to know my fellow members
I'm Kyle, I'm a 5th year senior at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. I'm pretty into cars, current rides are a 93 rx7 and a 92 miata. The rx7 is a money pit, 500whp, super sticky tires. I play video games, but not as much as I used to. Forza, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Lego Star Wars (don't hate, loads of fun), Borderlands, Fallout, and Gears of War are what I've been playing recently.
I should be graduating in May with a bachelors of science in Political Science with a minor in History. No idea what I'm gonna do, I've been contemplating grad school, but not sure what I would go for. I might just take a year or two off and figure out what I want to do while working somewhere.
I own 1 Brazilian Rainbow Boa, Nero. He was born in approximately May and he just had his first shed with me.

Re: Get to know my fellow members
my name is Lori and I am a social worker going back to school in the near future to get my Masters in Gerontology and Ethics my husband and I have been keeping reptiles for the past 2 years, in my free time I am usually watching horror movies, hiking, taking pictures, or reading
reptile antics would have to be my Lacertas who when they aren't crawling all over each other (one is usually sitting on the other) or scaling the screen top of their tank completely upside down, see any new object to their environment (new terrarium decor, my fingers, the string of my hoody) as potential food. and therefore they try at least once to eat everything usually this stunt includes some form of acrobatic dive-bombing,

Re: Get to know my fellow members
Alright actually this thread is different, my turn! I'm Eli, I currently have 1 corn and a BD. However in 12 days (can't wait!!!) I'm going to an expo to get a 1.1 pair of corns to breed. Hopefully I'll have a beautiful clutch of babies next year. I'm into skiing, VFX, animation, and video games. Lately I've been playing Skate 3, StarCraft 2, and TF2. I homeschool but I plan on going to college for herpetology. I spend most of my free time herping and researching snakes. :P
My corn likes to climb onto the ledge that goes around the top of his viv even though he can barely fit, which usually ends in him falling into his water bowl :P I used to try to stop him but it's an uphill battle :P

I love all animals and have a menagerie that i would love to add to but money is tight with not working so for now am sticking with 1dog, 2cats, 2guinea pigs, 7snakes and 2lizards.
I am very happily married and have one daughter.

Re: Get to know my fellow members
I'm Billy, I just finished paramedic school and I'm currently working to finish my two year degree in EMS. I'm a few weeks away from taking my state exam so wish me luck(I'm gonna need it). The big goal is to be a firemen so after my two year degree I'll go to fire school. In my free time I play basketball, fish, work out, and of course take care of the collection(its funny how you always want more snakes even when you have too many ).
Reptile antics, I woke up one morning and as I was still in my daze I saw a flash of yellow on my bp rack. I was like "I don't have a yellow ball up in that tub". Well it was my jungle carpet, it was her first of two escapes. I have her on lockdown now but this is what I woke up to:

Re: Get to know my fellow members
I'm Kat, I'm a Texas certified Clerk of the Court and currently run the Municipal Court in my city. Hoping to switch over to the District clerk's office in a few years. My husband is a police officer in our little town and we have a beautiful daughter Allison that shares our love of reptiles and animals in general. I love nature/wildlife photography and traveling. We hope to visit all our National parks. Went to Smokey mountain national part in 2008, and got to go to Yellowstone last July. I presently have 2 dogs, 5 snakes, and 1 common house gecko. My reptile family is growing and will continue to grow!!!

Re: Get to know my fellow members
I forgot reptile antics. After feeding Nero last week I went to check on him on Tuesday and couldn't find him with a quick search. He likes to burrow in the substrate so I quick checked his usual burrow spots and couldn't find him. So I pulled the hides out and sifted through all of the substrate and still couldn't find him. I was freaking out at this point and I went to put the hides back in the viv and picked up the tree looking one, and I get a strike. He had snap ringed himself around the edge where there's a lip and he didn't like being disturbed from his nap.
another big hobby of mine is photography, looking to upgrade to a new body sometime soon if I can get the damn rx7 finished.
