Converting leo from crickets to mealies

Not much to this in my experience, I have never had a problem with my leos not eating moving little bugs. But, all my leos also eat frozen thawed pinkies from my hand so I may just have good luck.

Are you having trouble converting them?

Why would you want to do that? Aren't crickets a great diet for Leos?

Well, from what I have read, both crickets and mealies are a good primary food source for leos. Mealworms are more convenient for me, and they wont chirp at night and make me think I am up north . I will still offer crickets, but I am hoping to make mealies the bulk of his diet.

I use mealies as the bulk of my diet and just use crickets dusted with calcium once a week..this has worked great for me even with the skinny leos turning big..my problem tho is if you feed to much, you will have a hugely overweight leo....however for your question...just basically feed both at one time....gradually set it to mealies and eventually they will eat both....if the bug moves, it gets eaten..in most cases anyway.

I heard of someone making a trail of mealies to a dish full of mealies to get them use to eating out of a dish?? I tried to switch my leo from crickets to mealies but he had no interest in them. But every leo has a diff personality )

I just switched the food bowl to those ceramic dishes used under pots, it has a lower lip, so hopefully the leo can get at the worms easier.

Well, if he only wants crickets, I will eventually have to cave in and supply him with crickets, but I am not going to give in without a fight dagnabit.

Would introducing a sexy mealie-eating female help?
