Hahaha Jamba, I love it!! Great lookin' little guy; it's clearly obvious why Epicrates are referred to as the "Slender Boas" lol

Wow, stunning pictures!

They made me think of a question: I heard (i don't remember where though) that poisonous snakes have slit like pupils, like cats, whereas non-poisonous snakes have round pupils like people, is this true?

Re: Fresh shed, nice weather...

It's purely a matter of their activity habits; nocturnal animals typically have slit-like pupils, while diurnal animals have round pupils. Most boids are active primarily at night, and therefure have slit pupils. A lot of colubrids are active during the day, so they have round type pupils.

Re: Fresh shed, nice weather...

In north America, i believe the only venomous snake with round pupils is the coral snake (someone please correct me if im wrong) but across the rest of the world its not a reliable method.
There are multiple methods of telling if a snake is venomous, and some need to be combined to be reliable. By far the most reliable method is to know the snakes in the area.
Some signs are rattles, head shape, tail shape (all aquatic snakes with a rudder like tail are venomous)
