keep your mice on? i mean what type of substrate. are pine shavings okay or should I use aspen?

I have been using pine for over a year with no problems. As you may already know you should not use cedar.

We have used Pine for all of our rodents, and no problems have comed up.

pine it is then haha. Yes i knew that i could not use cedar but of course it is the only bedding currently in the house as it is used for the guinea pigs. thanks a lot.

How does shredded paper work? Like I know how you shred it I mean for cleaning and smell?

i personally found that their "waste" stuck to the ground when using paper. I also lost some mice (they hid in the paper when i cleaned and were thrown into the garbage, by accident ). I just use pine but others have used paper with great succes.
