Profile: Hills
Today I’ll profile the last of the Brazilian Rainbows I am breeding this year, Hills. Hills is a male who loves to climb, and when held will head straight for your head -- so was named for Sir Edmund Hillary…shortened to “Hills” to avoid gender confusion. Hills’ birthdate in unknown, but from his size I’m guessing 2007 or 2008. As of month end December, he weighed in at 1630 grams, which is about how much my other senior males averaged at 32 months -- and this was after some catch-up growth.
Although not as ornery as Vlad, Hills too is a little hard to photo-manage, and last session would not sit still for his outside shots. So here are some inside shots:
Front
Top
And, one of the few good outside picts, a side shot:
(Note the restraining hand.)
For a limited time only, he’s also available in a necktie model:
Thanks to my buddy Ethan for modeling. ;-)
I have paired him up with Alexandrite (see thread here: http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/epicr...exandrite.html) for this breeding year. Between her genes and his vibrant orange, I’m hoping for great things. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for looking,

Re: Profile: Hills
He got some really nice light orange to him. He should make some super sweet bright babies pared up with Alexandrite.

Re: Profile: Hills
The thing I find most striking about this guy is the head. He is very handsome, I'm not sure if his head is atypical of the species, but I would not mind adding one of his offspring to my little collection.

Re: Profile: Hills
Wow, you guys are great! Not a single comment so far on other forums, and here you give me four!
Ch^4: they may have started last night, but I'm not sure: when I came home and checked, 50% of both snakes were out of the hide, and 50% (the important 50%!) were hidden inside. I'm letting them "bond" for now without interruption.
Marvel: he's actually a medium orange, it's just difficult to capture on film. I've seen far lighter males before. Bright light does tend to wash out that shade, and all of these shots are either sun- or flash- lit. Agreed though, his babies should be bright!
Greg/Reptile: Hills is pretty typical for a Brazilian in term of head pattern. All of them show five lines, one on each side of the head and three on top. Those lines vary in terms of density and path. They tend to blend with the neck pattern, which is the transition area from head lines to dorsal spots, forming all sorts of interesting loops and hooks and other goodness. Interestingly, each and every Brazilians has a different head/neck pattern, to the point where I can use sketches or photos of that area to tell different animals in my collection apart.

Re: Profile: Hills
An updated picture of Hills, after a nice meal as he headed towards the heat.
This was taken shortly before introducing the pair, as I really don’t want to disturb them right now.
Thank you,

Ditto on the head. That just screams at me. If I had the space I would so try and get a baby from ya.
