Re: Mowing grass redneck style....
Why?
Hope this happens before the snakes & other critters come out for the summer . . .

Re: Mowing grass redneck style....
Yes that is why I do this very early, the snakes are not out yet, no birds nests yet, no praying mantis yet.....
Burning off dead grass removes the fuel preventing accidental fire later on, it fertilizes the soil, destroys unwanted burdocks and believe it or not it is more Eco friendly than driving a tractor with a mower on it.

Re: Mowing grass redneck style....
Most farmers here do stubble burning this time of year too. Much better for the soil than mowing and letting the cuttings go mouldy.

That not true redneck. I didn't see any drunk running around or rolling on the ground on fire. LOL

And you guys don't need to win the lottery to come visit.
I will even pick you up at the airport to keep expenses minimal.

Re: Mowing grass redneck style....
Those burning shots remind me of when I was a kid, I was up a tree surveying the view and my mate lit a pile of brush right under the tree I was in!! He was a right firebug that guy, he refused to try and put it out and it went totally out of control reeeally quickly with me, eight years old, up a tree getting burned. Nice. I had to jump a silly height, the whole field burned,I litterally had to dash through flames to get out. I never spoke to him again. I bet he`s locked up for arson now lol git.

Re: Mowing grass redneck style....
what an absolute awesome place to live infernalis.when i first read your profile and saw central new york state.i pictured you in amongst all the sky scrapers and hustle and bustle of city life, etc. (i basically pictured newyork city) a place that would drive me nuts ! i live in a small village where every one knows each other and usually 3 generations of your family.i feel i could not live in a big city where people are in that much of a hurry they dont even say hello in the passing.my wife and i dream of retiring to a place just like yours mate.it looks like an amazing place to be.it looks so peacefull and tranquil (when not burning fields, haha). thanks for your kind invite,if we were ever to come to the states.it also goes without saying if you ever plan a trip to scotland theres always space for you at mine mate.
cheers shaun
p.s.dont hesitate to let me know about your colemans, just pm me the details and i'll sort some out.
