SxyHerp
Hello all!
My hubby calls me SxyHerp, but you can call me DEB. :medbrown: I currently have on Normal Ball, which we named Gandalf and we are in the process of attaining an Albino, which we plan to name Galandriel (so sue us, we like Lord of the Rings!)
We have no plans to breed, but if they do breed when they get to the right size we hope we get one oddly colored! I have no understanding of 2.1 , 0.2..whatever, I am not a professional...I just love my snakes.

Hi im jay,
so how old is your ball? maybe you can post some pics of it. i currently dont have any snakes, but im getting my fisrt ball in october. I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming albino. i heard they are pretty expencive, but there worth the price. post some pics of him when you get him. the number thing that you dont understand is just a simple expression to show how many animals you have and wht there genders are. for example lets say you had 2.3.1 snakes. the fisrt number in the males (2) the second is the females (3) and the last is the unknown gender (1). so if someone read this they would know that you have six snakes, 2 are males, 3 are females, and 1 is gender unknown. Understand?

Gandalf isn't quite 1 year old yet...we purchased him this pass February. Thanks for the heads-up on the numbers...ok!! Yahhhh! I understand!
We don't have the Galandriel in our hands yet, but I did post a picture on ReptileForums.com under deborahbroadus; new family member is the topic. The picture was sent to me by the seller. We are anxiously waiting.
I fed Gandalf The Wise two mice two days ago, and he's sleeping it off, one more day, and I can safely disturb him :medbigsmi (not that he's ever "snapped" at me) but I respect his space and usually wait till he's active. :w
1.0.0 BP Normal Gandalf
0.1.0 Albino BP Galandriel (coming soon)

Odds are if they did you wouldn't. If your male is normal and your female is albino you would get a bunch of normal looking balls that would all be het for albino.
If you want to give yourself a head ache read through this. I know I did when I was learning about snake genetics, got a head ache that is.

Hi Deb, welcome to the site.
My name is Don, I also keep ball pythons. Definately one of the coolest snakes out there. Hollett is right about the breeding, they would all look normal but possess albino genes. In order to prove the albino out you would have to breed those babies back to a visible albino or another 100% het for albino. If you DO intend on breeding, and would like to produce albinos. I would suggest getting a 100% het albino so you dont have to inbreed with your female.
Good luck with everything, hope to see you around the forums sometime
Thanks,
Don Meyer

Thanks...did, and didn't! :medwhistl Did read though it, didn't get a headache! :med3eye:
Ok, that kind of clears up a lot, so what we did was...my hubby went overboard and found a 100% het for the albino gene, for 100.00!!!! It better be what they advertised!!
Otherwise we wouldn't have purchased it. It arrived today and it is gorgeous. Hubby said that it arrived and seemed sort or jittery, but latched onto him immediatedly...not in a STRESSED out fashion, but exploring, flickering...not at all shy or afraid of humans. We purchased it from a Paul Mitchell and Galandriel is coming from a John Piro (both are internet purchases).
So we have 1.0.0 Gandalf (normal) and 1.0.0 Aragorn (100%het) we are still waiting for 0.1.0 Galandriel (Albino), who should be arriving on Thursday. YaY!!! :hammer:
