Is it ok to keep male and female in the same cage?

You will get a mixed response on this.

The most common answer will be no you can't. Too much stress, too much chance of aggressive behaviour, and too much breeding. Makes sense to me so that is what I will do should I ever get a female cham.

But if you have a large enough cage, then maybe. I don't know how large though, but big enough for each to have their own territory. A male and female together would be busy getting it on, but I am guessing breeding is your intent anyways. But too much of that will probably harm the female.

I'm sure the more experienced keepers will respond. I am just relaying what I have read here.

A huge enclosure is fine, in my mind a huge enclosure is huge! Which has to be placed outside. If you wan to put the pair together in the house thats not a good idea. It causes stress and like Lyndon said they will keep breeding which is hard on the female, also when she is gravid and the male finds her its gonna get messy.

I would not suggest keeping them together. The stress caused by the male always being around the female will slowly break her down. Even if you don't see and visible signs of stress you can be assured it is taking a toll on her.

If breeding is your ultimate goal you will have much better luck with keeping the animals seperate. This way you can document the mating dates.

In the wild I never saw a female anywhere near a male with any of the Pardalis morphs I saw.
